FIWC UK Online Pre-Qualifier Rules

 General

1.    MATES Leagues is a place for all fans of FIFA to come and play without fear of abuse or discrimination. EA reserves the right to remove any users deemed to be breaching the “Terms of Service” and causing offence or distress to others. Abuse and discrimination directed towards EA admins will also not be tolerated and will result in users being removed from the MATES environment and this may potentially limit the use of their EA account for online play.

2.    By registering for this “event” you agree to abide by all rules laid down and failure to do so could result in your removal from this “event” and exclusion from subsequent “events”.

3.    MATES Leagues operates on a fair play system; if you are regularly the subject of disputes and cause friction with other users your account may be put in status for a limited period and you will not be able to enter any “events”.

Match Settings

4.    In order to play a match against your opponent you will need to communicate with them prior to the end of the scheduled match deadline and time via PM on the MATES website. Failure to do this could result in the match result being forfeited in favour of your opponent.

You should ensure your PSN ID is clearly listed on your profile page to enable your opponents to easily find this information. Failure to include your PSN ID on your profile may result in removal from the event. A player should only use a single PSN ID for the duration of the event and anyone found to be using multiple PSN IDs will be removed. All players should also provide a link to their FootballWorld profile on their MATES Leagues profile page.

Players should also turn on the in-game option for ranked match reports and these should be kept in the case of any disputes.

5.    The player listed on the left of the fixture is deemed as being the “home” team and will host the match. It is the host players responsibility to ensure all match settings are correct as outlined below.

6.    The following settings should be used for all matches in this “event”;

  • Match Type: RANKED
  • Half Length: 6 mins
  • Max DNF%: Any
  • Team Level: Any
  • Controls: Any
  • Game Speed: normal
  • Formations: default only
  • Stadium: Any

If after 90 minutes the scores are tied then Extra Time and Penalties should be used to determine the winner of the match.

7.    Custom formations and custom teams are not to be used in this “event”. Live Season should also be turned OFF. If your opponent’s team has red or orange form arrows in the squad and player select menu they still have Live Season turned on and you should quit the game and re-create once this has been turned OFF. The Classic XI and World XI teams are not to be used in this event.

8.    The easiest way to create a game session your opponent can join is to join an empty game lobby under the "Online Lobbies" option in the "Online Game Modes" menu inside the game. Once you have joined the lobby (and communicated to your opponent which lobby) you should be able to create a ranked game session and your opponent can join it. The game session match settings should be as listed above.

Reporting Results Disputes / No Shows

9.    It is the “host” player’s responsibility to wait for their opponent for 20 minutes after the allotted start time before claiming a no-show. Matches should be played in the “fixture window” timeslot detailed on the event page, any matches not played in this time without an adequate reason being provided to the “event” admin will have the result awarded randomly to one of the two players involved.

If there is an adequate reason for not playing the match in the allotted time, or notification is given that both players are unable to play within the timeslot the admin can, at their sole discretion, allow the match to be played at a later time.

10.    Each player is expected to record their score within 1 hour of finishing the match and once entered correctly “lock” their part of the scorecard. Any disputes should also be raised within this 1 hour period.

All players are required to have an active FootballWorld (http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk) account and a link to this should be posted on your MATES Leagues profile page. To create one simply go to the site and log in with your standard EA account details and select your gamertag or PSN ID persona as your active persona for the site.

Players should use the same gamertag or PSN ID throughout the whole event, if multiple ID's are used a player may be excluded from the event and their matches forfeited.

11.    If you wish to raise a dispute following the conclusion of a match you can do so on the page where you would normally enter your result. Please include as much information as possible and any links to supporting evidence such as screenshots. If you don;t submit any evidence to support your claims you run the risk of being ruled against.

It is a player's responsibility to capture and submit evidence to support their dispute in any form possible. Ranked match reports will be counted as evidence to support your claims and all evidence should be emailed to matesleagues@ea.com

An admin will then respond to the dispute and work to resolve it fairly. Please note that the “event” admins decision is final on ALL disputes and failure to abide by their decision could result in removal from the “event”.

Disconnections

12.    All games must be played in full.

  • If a player disconnects during the initial launch of a game, then the game will be restarted.
  • If a player disconnects before the first goal is scored, the match will be restarted.
  • If a player disconnects at any point during first half, and that team is winning, the match will be restarted.
  • If a player disconnects at any point during the first half, and that team is losing, that team forfeits the match.
  • If a player disconnects, and it is past the 1st half, that team forfeits the match
  • If a player disconnects, and it is in ET, that team automatically loses

For any disconnections, a 3-0 win will be awarded per game by default. If a player fails to follow the rules and agree to restart a match when required they will receive an automatic loss.

Fairplay and Unfair Advantages

13.    Certain aspects of gameplay in FIFA10 are regarded by the playing community as providing an unfair advantage and as MATES is a fairplay environment anyone found to be using any of these aspects will be warned and on a second offence removed from the “event”.

Please note that this list is not exhaustive and if the general consensus about other gameplay elements is that they are deemed to provide an unfair advantage they will also be frowned upon.

a.    No editing teams.
b.    No use of "Live Season".
c.    No custom formations.
d.    Kick-off bug: the ball must be played back into your own half at kick-off.
e.    Goalkeeper: holding the ball for more than 7 seconds.
f.    Goalkeeper to defender: defender heading ball repeatedly to and from the goalkeeper.

14.    If you suspect a player to have used an advantageous gameplay element or abusive behaviour, you must submit clear evidence in the match details and the appropriate action will be taken.
